The Emira V6 is the Last Gritty 6-Speed Car From Lotus

Here's our review of the 2024 Lotus Emira V6! Behind the driver is a supercharged 3.5L V6 from Toyota that's impossible to ignore, usable trunk space, and a howling exhaust your neighbors will hate you for.

The Emira might be the greatest new car on sale today under $100k USD. It has the purity and honesty of a Lotus, the charm that most modern supercars have lost, the curb appeal of an original NSX, and it's the size of a Ferrari F355.
It's almost as if Lotus was listening to us? We may be a small minority in the car world at large, but we know when something feels right. It's not perfect, but the Emira feels right.
Even though Lotus and parent company Geely have recently announced a step backwards in their initial (and in hindsight, unrealistic) EV goals for the brand, it's doubtful the future will include a manual transmission successor to the Emira. We're betting on a hybrid version of the 2.0L, AMG-powered automatic Emira that's currently on sale today.
The Emira is one of the most gritty and tactile cars on sale today... the opposite of what EVs promise consumers. To hope for a future in which Lotus is able to sell both silent and soulless EVs alongside unforgiving 6-speed experiences would be naive.
The Emira V6 might be the last 6-speed car Lotus ever builds on a large scale. Let's enjoy it while we can!
