Is It Time To Import a 'Cheap' Lamborghini Gallardo from Japan?!

While everyone else is focused on importing the Japanese gems we never got here in North America, perhaps you should be focused on mid-2000s exotics that are about to become legal as well.
Unlike the R34 GT-R or S15 Silvia (which steal most of the attention) Lamborghini Gallardos were sold here as well, but the ability to choose from thousands of additional overseas examples is a valuable tool to be wielded carefully.
Despite their obvious cultural charm and comedic effect, I'd stay away from the highly modified 04/05 examples you'll likely find if you look around longer than five minutes. I love this part of browsing Japanese auctions and dealer sites though, especially discovering most of these cars have underglow and other questionable modifications.😂👌
A clean 2007 E-gear model like this one is a winner if you ask me... underglow included. It was imported from Japan into Canada recently and the bodykit puts it a little closer to the updated cars that came after 2008.
Yes, obviously I'd prefer a gated 6-speed manual, but if your other option is a brand new $50,000 Subaru with a CVT, i'd take a 5.0L V10 with single-clutch auto and I'm sure you would too. I'm assuming this conversation is happening with the non-rational side of your brain as well.
Whether you attempt to import a 'cheap' Lamborghini from Japan yourself, have someone do the due diligence for you, or buy one that's already been imported, inspected, and registered, I don't think there's a very deep reason for wanting to drive a car like this.
It's just a cool N/A V10 supercar with a ton of analog charm and good noises. ENJOY!
